My Yoga Room Curtains are very special, I had a blind that I made for a Victorian window, and was the first thing I made on my sewing course, to honour my Mum, and all the materials she had given me over the years, and all the sewing stuff I inherited.
And that was tonnes of stuff!
Which I am making use of and absolutely loving making these things.
I took apart the blind, which was painful, as it took me ages on the course, as I was still learning, so to pull it apart, felt criminal to unpick all that hard work
But it had to be done, as the blind was way too big and actually wasn’t completely finished.
I used the same bits of fabric for the 2nd curtain, obviously you want them to match, and I had loads of each fabric left, the blind wasn’t long enough for the window when flipped sideways, so I added a panel at the top which came from an old cotton sheet.
The small window curtain was made from all the off cuts of the off cuts of the bits left from the main fabric! haha. I don’t like waste
These 3 took me around 5 days to make, and I cant remember how long the blind took! but ages, as I was a beginner back then.
So much work involved in recycling things. Washing, unpicking, ironing and cutting just to get it ready to be re-used, and before you even start to sew again!
My Yoga study room just gets better and better!
